The problem

Planning a dinner with friends and family shouldn’t require a group chat, three poll apps, and big techs SoMe. When I left Facebook my partner had to act as relay for the invitations from my own side of the family. Many I spoke to felt stuck on Facebook for Events. There had to be a better way.

The approach

I wanted there to be a simple but functional social event planning app/system. That idea ended up becoming Sammen after months of work and learning. First as iOS and Android apps through Flutter, and slowly but surely also on the web with SvelteKit. Guests can RSVP directly on the website without an account.

The name means “together” in Danish, since that’s the whole point. Getting people together, easily and repeatedly, without relying on group chats or Facebook.
